Curiosity

We have lived in Australia now for 33 years and have been curious to see if there is anyone out there reading this, who like us, emigrated from England? Even more so, if you came from Hertfordshire and live in Brisbane.

We have over the last few years put together parts of our family tree. Looking for information on the Net we have found that there are a lot of people who are virtually looking for the same families as we are when we thought we would be the only ones.

We would love to hear some stories from people who like us emigrated from Hertfordshire to Australia. If you came from the Hertford / Ware area and now live in Brisbane, all the much better.

New Jobs

Three of the Porter family have new jobs.

Reg commenced work for the Pickwick Group cleaning the Inala Community Health Centre.

Samantha Warren (nee Porter) will commence work with Bushnell Lawyers in Ipswich as a Senior Legal Secretary.

Laurie will be changing jobs within the Australian Customs Service and moving to Port Services - Enforcement Operations at the Port of Brisbane.

Immigrated to Australia from the UK in '73

Reg and Hazel immigrated to Australia in March 1973 with our 3 children, Steven, Laurie and Samantha. We moved from Dane End, Hertfordshire to Brisbane, Queensland.

We decided on creating a website for ourselves so that our relatives in the UK could keep up-to-date on what is happening on the other side of the world.
